Dr. Claudia Jansen van Vuuren

Clinical Research Physician

Dr. Claudia Jansen van Vuuren graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, in 2015. She worked for several years in under-resourced primary health care clinics in the uMgungundlovu district of KwaZulu-Natal, the epicentre of the HIV epidemic, managing a range of health problems in communities heavily burdened with HIV, TB and other communicable diseases. She currently works as a clinical research physician (sub-investigator) at CAPRISA's Vulindlela Clinical Research Site, where she has had the opportunity to engage with, learn from, and begin projects with world leaders in HIV and other research. Dr Jansen van Vuuren is interested in public health, medical writing and research ethics.
