Samson Saruchera

Samson Saruchera is a pharmacist with over twenty years of experience. He is a holder of a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honors) degree from the University of Zimbabwe and a Master of Science degree from Purdue University (USA) majoring in Biotechnology Innovation and Regulatory Science. He has two years’ experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, several years’ experience in community pharmacy, and more than ten years of experience in HIV prevention and management; four of which he was working as an Antiretroviral (ART) Pharmacist in Namibia under the CDC/MOHSS program. Currently, he is working as an ART Pharmacist for Aids Healthcare Foundation Zimbabwe at Mpilo Center of Excellence which is the largest ART clinic in Zimbabwe by patient census. One of his major roles is ensuring an uninterrupted supply of ARVs both for prevention and treatment, sexual reproductive health medicines, and HIV test kits. He also works with organizations that represent key populations like the Sexual Rights Center (SRC) and the Gays and Lesbians Association of Zimbabwe (GALZ) in improving access to ART services. Samson is passionate about contributing to the elimination of HIV by 2030. He is also passionate about regulatory science. Regulatory science ensures that medicines that reach the end user are safe and of high-quality. He is looking forward to being involved in research for HIV prevention products.
